The Wedding Oak Tree is the third of three outdoor ceremony locations at The Meadows — and for the couples who choose it, there was never really any other option.

The Wedding Pergola has a white fabric canopy. The Outdoor Chapel has an open sky overhead. The Wedding Oak has something neither of those can offer — a living, natural canopy of branches that has been growing longer than most wedding venues have existed.

The tree sits just in front of Celebration Hall, slightly to the south, with the ceremony facing north. It's a true Texas oak — wide, rooted, and quietly magnificent. During the day, the branches create natural shade and a layered, organic backdrop that photographs beautifully in every season. As the evening light softens and fades, the string lights and globe lights come to life, and the space transforms into something that feels less like a venue and more like a setting from a story.

Is the Wedding Oak available for daytime ceremonies? Absolutely. The oak tree is beautiful at any time of day — the natural branch canopy creates soft shade and a stunning organic backdrop for daytime ceremonies and portraits. The string lights and globe lights are most dramatic at dusk and into the evening, but the space photographs beautifully in any light.

Are the string lights and globe lights always set up? Yes. The lighting on the Wedding Oak is a permanent installation — string lights across the canopy and globe lights in the lower branches are always in place. The crystal chandelier is available as a $25 add-on for your portrait session.

Is the night portrait included in the photography packages? The night portrait session under the Wedding Oak is part of the photography experience when you book Danny and Vera. They've photographed this space hundreds of times and have the exact positioning, light sources, and technique dialed in. The chandelier is included in all packages that include photography.

What is the neon sign and where is it located? The Meadows' signature neon sign is mounted on the south-facing side of the bar wall, just north of the ceremony space — so it faces the altar and the processional aisle. As the bride walks toward the altar, the sign glows behind her. When Danny shoots from the altar back toward the congregation, the neon sign appears in the background above your guests. It's one of those details that surprises couples when they see it in their photos for the first time.

How close is Celebration Hall to the Wedding Oak? Very close — the oak tree sits directly in front of Celebration Hall. Your guests transition from the ceremony to the reception in a matter of steps. No shuttles, no parking lot crossings, no gap in the energy of the day.

Can we see all three ceremony locations during our tour? Yes — and we encourage it. The Wedding Oak, the Pergola, and the Outdoor Chapel are all on the same connected property. You'll walk from one to the next in just a few minutes and see each one in person. Most couples know which location is theirs before the tour is over.

Is there a rain plan for the Wedding Oak ceremony? Yes. Celebration Hall — our 3,600 sq. ft. indoor space with a country-church aesthetic and steeple exterior — is your built-in rain plan, included in every package and steps away from the oak tree. Donna monitors conditions and manages any transition smoothly so your guests remain comfortable and your day stays on track.

How is the Wedding Oak different from the Pergola and the Outdoor Chapel? The Pergola is a wood-look structure with a white fabric canopy, decorated by our in-house stylist with silk flowers and coordinating fabric to match your colors — polished, styled, and year-round green with artificial turf. The Outdoor Chapel is a white-painted open-air wooden structure with a native wildflower meadow behind the altar and oak trees to the west — organic and naturally beautiful. The Wedding Oak is the most intimate of the three — a living tree canopy with string lights, globe lights, and a neon sign backdrop, at its most dramatic at dusk. All three are stunning. The best way to choose is to stand in each one during your tour.
